That's why I love my D810
Recently I took a snapshot of a model at dogphotoday in the studio. She was sitting at the back of the studio and the flashes were of course pointing in the other direction towards the background. The camera still had the settings for flash photography, i.e. 1/125 at f/8 and ISO 100. Consequently, the result was more or less a black image:
At first glance, the photo doesn't look that exciting :-) Nevertheless, I wanted to know what else could be done with it. So I opened the picture in the RAW converter, corrected the exposure quite a bit and set the white balance correctly. The result was this picture:
That's much nicer! Once again, I am very impressed with what you can get out of this camera - just like with the D800. Above all, you can see what possibilities the RAW format offers. It would be interesting to know if there is a difference between 14-bit and 12-bit RAW mode. I use the 14-bit mode by default.
